Hazelden Names Leadership Team for New Recovery Center in Naples, Florida

CENTER CITY, Minn., Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Hazelden, the internationally renowned nonprofit addiction treatment center, today announced the leadership team for its new recovery center in Naples, Florida. Hazelden's 47-bed facility in Naples is scheduled to open in late March 2010, and will initially provide addiction treatment programs for adults, including a full array of family and outpatient services.

Michael Demask, Ph.D., will serve as executive director of Hazelden's facility in Naples, with Brenda Iliff, M.A., L.A.D.C., as clinical director, and Heather Burton, M.A., L.A.D.C., as outreach manager.

• Demask currently serves as dean of the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies based in Center City, Minnesota. In addition, he has been a professor at the graduate school for nine years, teaching and supervising masters level students. Prior to joining Hazelden, Demask held clinical and leadership positions in a variety of addiction treatment centers in Florida, including programs in Aventura, Bartow, Miami Shores, Orlando, Bowling Green, and Tampa. He completed his doctoral work in Counseling Leadership and Administration at Barry University in Miami Shores, and his master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of South Florida in Tampa.
• Iliff currently serves as the clinical director of Hazelden's Women's Recovery Center in Center City, Minn. Prior to that role, she was executive director of Hazelden's Fellowship Club in St. Paul, Minn., and has held clinical and leadership roles with Hazelden since 1994. Iliff also serves as an adjunct assistant professor at the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies.
• Burton has been serving in an interim outreach position for Hazelden in Naples since September. She is a long-time Naples resident, returning now after having received her master's degree in Addiction Studies from the Hazelden Graduate School of Addiction Studies in 2006, and subsequently working as a counselor at Hazelden's Women's Recovery Center in Center City, Minn. Prior to joining Hazelden, Burton enjoyed a successful 30-year career in corporate technology sales.
