Thanksgiving is coming early this year for firefighters at Truck & Engine Company 731, as associates of the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center are bringing a Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings to the station for these selfless heroes on Wednesday, November 25.

Hotel chefs, banquet staff and other associates worked double time to plan and create a big “thank you” for the firefighters. Not only will the volunteers be getting a traditional turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and all the trimmings, but the 12 firefighters on duty will be served by hotel associates.

“This is our thank you to Truck & Engine Company 731,” explains Michele Pajot, general manager at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. “We rely on them to help keep our associates and our guests safe, so it’s appropriate at this time of year that we show our gratitude. We have a long history with this Company. In fact, we recently renovated our health club and we donated our equipment to the firefighters.”

Truck & Engine Company 731 is located in North Potomac and is celebrating its 20 year anniversary of serving the Quince Orchard community.

“Our firefighters are excited about the Thanksgiving dinner by the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center,” says Lieutenant Kenney O’Leary of Company 731. “This is the first time anyone has done something like this for us. We’ve had people drop off cookies and things like that, which we always enjoy and appreciate, but we have never had an entire meal brought over and served to us. Being away from home over a holiday comes with the job and we all realize that going into it. But this Thanksgiving dinner for our firefighters will help make that a little easier.”

The Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center hotel in Gaithersburg Maryland recently completed a $6.2 million dollar renovation, encompassing 11 floors and 284 guest rooms and four suites. The hotel overlooks a picturesque lake and is only steps away from upscale restaurants, shopping, and the Rio Entertainment complex. The hotel boasts five meeting rooms and 6,588 total square feet of meeting space, along with two concierge levels.
