Thoratec upgraded to Overweight at Piper Jaffray; tgt raised to $37 . Piper Jaffray upgrades THOR to Overweight from Neutral and raises their tgt to $37 from $31 noting the co announced last night that the FDA will not require an advisory panel to review HeartMate II for destination therapy, which they think speaks volumes on the strength and quality of the data and gives greater conviction in their sales outlook. The firm notes the co reaffirmed its expectation for FDA approval on HMII for DT in early 2010. Firm says the co is in labeling and post-market study discussions with the FDA, which indicates to them that it's possible to have FDA approval by year end.
