Rumor Round Up Today was another busy rumor morning... Floor covering manufacturer Mohawk (MHK 49.51 +1.79) was rumored to be hearing interest from home improvement giant Home Depot (HD 27.56 +0.51)... Renewed takeover chatter in Akamai Tech (AKAM 20.96 +0.84) circulated this morning, with Google (GOOG 525.19 +1.15) as the most recent rumored acquirer.... Renewed takeover chatter was also circulated on AK Steel (AKS 20.02 +0.63) with Nucor (NUE 45.06 +0.24) being named as the potential acquirer, AKS shares have traded up ~$0.50 off the rumor... And in the biotech space, which has been the most frequent sector of interest of recent M&A rumors, Valeant Pharma (VRX 30.58 +0.39) was rumored to be hearing interest from Glaxo (GSK 39.65 -0.13) however volatility in shares did not increase following the rumor. Finally ITT Industries (ITT 52.85 +1.42) was rumored to be a takeover target, however shares have not held on to the mornings initial strength.
