Tampa International Airport was named the No. 2 airport for overall quality in the United States, in a Zagat survey released Tuesday.

The 2009 Airline Survey covered 16 domestic airlines, 73 international airlines and 30 domestic airports.

TIA placed No. 1 in 2008, but Portland International Airport took the top position in 2009.

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Orlando International Airport and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport also placed among the top five.

LaGuardia Airport in New York City placed last for the third survey in a row.

Conducted on Zagat.com, the survey considered the opinions of 5,895 frequent fliers and travel professionals who took a collective 97,600 flights in the last year.

It is the third annual Zagat airline survey and eighth survey since 1990, a release said.

Zagat Survey LLC rates and reviews airlines, restaurants, hotels, nightlife, movies, music, shopping, golf, resorts, spas and other entertainment categories in more than 100 countries.
