Ecrio names Bogdan COO

Ecrio Inc., a provider of real-time, rich media communications and mobile commerce software, on Tuesday named Tad Bogdan executive vice president and COO.

Cupertino-based Ecrio said Bogdan's duties will include expansion and management of global initiatives, with an emphasis on the company's rich IP communications framework and mobile payment software.

Bogdan has worked at companies that include Santa Clara-based Sun Microsystems Inc., Mobileway (later Mobile 365), a mobile messaging and marketing firm acquired in 2006 by Sybase, and ActivIdentity. He was also founder and CEO of MultiMode, a communication platform acquired by global messaging provider Clickatell.

Ecrio was founded in 1998 and is privately held.
